Versatile rotors for Eppendorf Centrifuge 5804 R and 5804

The swing-bucket rotor and adapters accommodate tubes and bottles from 0.2 mL to 250 mL whereas the fixed-angle rotors accomodate vessels from 0.2 mL to 85 mL. The plate rotor is ready for you to carry out centrifugation of all common types of multiwell plate, such as PCR, cell culture or deep-well plates.

Detailed Information on the Centrifuge 5804/5804 R

For more details on the two different models within the 5804 series (Eppendorf Centrifuge 5804 R and 5804), please see the product pages above.

      Rotor S–4–72 for medium-throughput applications

Use Eppendorf swing-bucket centrifuge rotor Rotor S–4–72 for medium-throughput molecular applications. Offering speeds of up to 3,234 x g (4,200 rpm) and a broad range of adapters, it easily handles all common tube formats from 0.2 mL to 250 mL. Its aerodynamic round bucket design saves up to 48 % energy compared to Rotor A–4–62. Buckets and adapters are autoclavable.

Rotor for high-speed centrifugation with Eppendorf Rotor FA–45–6–30

Eppendorf Rotor FA–45–6–30 (6 x 50 mL) with Eppendorf QuickLock® lid can be used at a maximum speed of 20,130 x g (12,100 rpm) in Centrifuge 5810 R and 16,639 x g (11,000 rpm) in the 5804, 5804 R and 5810. It is aerosol-tight for safe centrifugation of hazardous samples and uses Eppendorf QuickLock technology for fast rotor lid locking. With a low rotor weight of 3.2 kg, it improves handling to make everyday work more comfortable. A 45° borehole angle minimizes pellets smear along the tube wall.

      End-of-life

      Disposal of packaging
The packaging of the Eppendorf Centrifuge 5804 R and 5804 contain different materials, this can include a wooden pallet, cardboard, a plastic dust cover, and some foam parts. Recycling of materials becomes more and more important every day: Are you aware that nearly all cardboard material is recycled in Europe? Our centrifuge packaging cardboard material consists of ca. 50% recycling material. Please support the global sustainability initiative of recycling valuable raw material by also collecting the freezer cardboard packaging material and disposing of it in the appropriate collection container at your organization. In respect to the plastic dust cover made of LD-PE and the foam parts, we recommend to select a dedicated recycling partner where PE material can be recycled. We suggest you contact your local waste hauler or facility management team to understand the available recycling options for your organization.

      Disposal of instrument
Our Eppendorf Centrifuge 5804 R and 5804 last for many years, but if they need to be replaced, we kindly ask you to fulfill local requirements for disposal of these instruments. We strongly recommend a certified local recycling partner with experience in instruments with active cooling. Keeping it “local“ reduces the impact of transportation, and the "certified" aspect is recommended due to the safe and sustainable removal and recycling of the cooling liquids if it is a refrigerated centrifuge.

      Decontamination
This piece of equipment was used in a laboratory and/ or was used to handle biological samples. Please keep in mind to adequately decontaminate the equipment which needs to be disposed. Check local requirements. For more information, get in contact with your local biosafety officer and/ or waste officer. Check if your local recycling partner has special instructions and/ or documentation requirements. You may also use the Eppendorf decontamination form sheet as guidance.
