The minimum rotational speed is 10 rpm (1 xg), irrespective of the inserted rotor. The minimum rotational speed can be increased in increments of 10 rpm (10 xg) up to 5,000 rpm (3,000 xg). 5,000 – 14,000 rpm (3,000 – 22,132 xg) can be set in increments of 100 rpm (100 xg).

Is it possible to spin 50 mL and 15 mL tubes together in one rotor?

Yes, it is possible, provided that the rotor is loaded symmetrically. This means that the 50 mL tubes and the 15 mL tubes are positioned opposite one another and are positioned symmetrically. Please use the appropriate adapters for the tubes.

Is it possible to load a rotor of Eppendorf Multipurpose centrifuges 59xx with different kind of buckets in the same centrifugation run, e.g. buckets for tubes and plate buckets?

Yes. This is usually possible. Please find detailed information on this topic in the Operating Manual of the respective device at the Download section of the Eppendorf website.

Can the rotors of Centrifuge 5810/ R and 5804/ R be used for Centrifuges of the 59xx family?

No, this is not possible. Please do only use rotors which are labeled with the Centrifuge name 5920 R or 59XX.

Can rotors, buckets and adapters of Eppendorf Multipurpose centrifuges 59xx be autoclaved?

The fixed-angle rotors, rotor lids and adapters can be autoclaved for 20 minutes at 121 °C. The swing-out rotor crosses can not be autoclaved, but buckets and aerosoltight caps can also be autoclaved for 20 min. at 121 °C Please find details in the Operating Manual of the respective device.

For which centrifuge can we use our mobile tables 5921 000 010 and 5921 000 012?

The mobile tables can be used for centrifuges 59xx as well as 58xx.

No, the centrifuge 5910 Ri does not offer scheduling functions or FastTemp pro.

Does the 5910 Ri save information about the used rotors?

The centrifuge automatically detects the inserted rotor type and counts the spin cycles. This information is accessible in the "Settings" menu under "Maintainance and Qualification".

Which documentation options does the 5910 Ri offer?

1. All centrifugation runs (up to 1000) are documented and stored. The whole list or selected runs can be exported on a USB stick as csv file or pdf document. 2. Up to 100.000 events containing notifications and messages are saved. The event list (including all operations and alarms) can be exported on a USB stick as csv file. 3. All devices which are registered in a VisioNize cloud can be monitored live.

The duration of pre-cooling depends on the rotor type. The required time varies from rotor to rotor, as an expample pre-cooling for the swing-out rotor S-4-Universal rotor takes approximately 15 minutes and for fixed angle rotor FA-6x50, it takes app. 12 mins.

How can I change the favorites on the home screen of centrifuge 5910 Ri?

Enter the desired parameters for "Set Time", "Set Temperature" or "Set Speed" and tap "Add to favorites". Select a position for the favorite entry and confirm your selection. The previoius favorite in the selected position is overwritten.

What is the favorites function of the centrifuge 5910 Ri?

This function allows to start centrifugation with the most frequently used parameters in an instant. For each of the parameters Time, Temperature and Speed four favorite values can be created which are displayed on the home screen.

How can I create a new program in the 5910 Ri?

Please set the parameters for Time, Temperature, Speed and Ramps first. If the desired parameters are set 1. Tap on an empty program field 2. Enter the program name. 3. Confim the entry. Disposal of packaging
The packaging of the Eppendorf Centrifuge 5910 Ri contains different materials, this can include a wooden pallet, cardboard, a plastic dust cover, and some foam parts. Recycling of materials becomes more and more important every day: Are you aware that nearly all cardboard material is recycled in Europe? Our centrifuge packaging cardboard material consists of ca. 50% recycling material. Please support the global sustainability initiative of recycling valuable raw material by also collecting the freezer cardboard packaging material and disposing of it in the appropriate collection container at your organization. In respect to the plastic dust cover made of LD-PE and the foam parts, we recommend to select a dedicated recycling partner where PE material can be recycled. We suggest you contact your local waste hauler or facility management team to understand the available recycling options for your organization.

Disposal of instrument
Our Eppendorf Centrifuge 5910 Ri lasts for many years, but if it needs to be replaced, we kindly ask you to fulfill local requirements for disposal of these instruments. We strongly recommend a certified local recycling partner with experience in instruments with active cooling. Keeping it “local“ reduces the impact of transportation, and the "certified" aspect is recommended due to the safe and sustainable removal and recycling of the cooling liquids if it is a refrigerated centrifuge.

Decontamination
This piece of equipment was used in a laboratory and/ or was used to handle biological samples. Please keep in mind to adequately decontaminate the equipment which needs to be disposed. Check local requirements. For more information, get in contact with your local biosafety officer and/ or waste officer.
