Are epT.I.P.S.® BioBased of the identical quality as the standard epT.I.P.S. pipette tips from Eppendorf?
All Eppendorf bio-based products fulfill the same standards as fossil-based Eppendorf consumables: They perform the same mechanical and chemical stability and have the same low leaching profile. A detailed overview of quality criteria for Eppendorf products regarding raw material and production is provided in APPLICATION NOTE NO. 056.

Are Reference pipettes resistant to toluene?
As the liquid normally does not contact the pipette, the application is possible. If the material of the pipette gets in direct contact for a longer time the tip ejector can be damaged (it can be changed as a spare part).

Are Research pipettes resistant to "Eau de Javel" (Javel water)?
"Eau de Javel" is the old name for a bleach solution containing potassium hypochlorite (KOCl). Solutions containing NaOCl, which ought to behave very similarly to KOCl in chemical terms, have been tested. These solutions can be used with our tips and for decontaminating the surface of Research pipettes. Commercially-available surface decontaminants like RNase AWAY and DNA AWAY are also possible. If the surface is treated for less than an hour, subsequent cleaning with distilled, sterile water is required. After an extended period (a few months), plastic parts may be affected by the NaOCl.
