How do I set the notification triggers?

You can define notifications like alerts or runtime notifications in the VisioNize Lab Suite using the Notification application. Please note, in order to be able to use the Notifications, you have to enable the alarm feature on your connected lab devices (Menu - Alarms - Enable Alarms).

How can I receive my notifications?

You can receive notifications via email and/or SMS (subscription to Sample Safety+ is required) onto your (mobile) end device.

What is a VisioNize-onboard device?

VisioNize-onboard devices are a new generation of Eppendorf devices equipped with the VisioNize touch interface. The following devices belong to the VisioNize product family: Cryocube freezer F740i, biological shaker S44i, CellXpert C170i CO2 incubator and the PCR Mastercylcer X50. These devices can directly be integrated in your local network and can be connected to VisioNize Lab Suite.

Why should I subscribe for VisioNize?

VisioNize can help you improving your lab efficiency by monitoring your devices, introducing advanced notifications to report on errors, alarms, and user interactions as well as recurring maintenance tasks. Moreover, Eppendorf seeks to continously develop further features for its digital platform.

Who should subscribe to the VisioNize Lab Suite?

Lab Managers taking care of the lab assets should act as administrators of the VisioNize Lab Suite (user role: Lab Manager). The administrator can add and delete additional users giving them the opportunity to monitor devices and subscribe for notifications.

Which languages are available?

The software is only available in English while the software manual is available in English and German language.

Which devices can be connected?

The first VisioNize-onboard devices are the freezer CryoCube F740hi, CO2 incubator CellXpert C170i, biological shaker Innova S44i, and the PCR cycler Mastercycler X50. Other Eppendorf devices can be connected via the VisioNize box. The VisioNize sense monitoring system can be used to connect non-Eppendorf temperature-operating lab devices to the VisioNize Lab Suite.

Are my device/personal data safe?

Personal client data will only be processed for the purpose of providing the service (e.g., creation of the tenant, notification in case of service disruption). Eppendorf may anonymize or aggregate device and software performance data for the purpose of improving current services and devices or to develop new services. Eppendorf will not access measurements on samples, scientific results, protocols, experiments, and workflows. Upon request by Eppendorf's Product Support, a customer's user with administration rights can createa user with a separate role that grants a member of the Eppendorf Product Support (temporary) access to the customer's tenant for troubleshooting purposes. I am a VisioNize Lab Suite administrator (user role: Lab Manager). How can I delete users from the user list?

As a VisioNize Lab Suite administrator, you can add and delete users from your VisioNize Lab Suite tenant via the User Management. Additionally, you can change the user role of existing users of your tenant.

Which end devices are supported?

Every (mobile) end device with a current web browser is able to log in into the VisioNize Lab Suite.

How can I delete my VisioNize Lab Suite tenant?

You can cancel your VisioNize Lab Suite subscription at anytime by accessing the VisioNize subscription suite. After cancellation, you still have access to all data and VisioNize Lab Suite services until the end of your current subscription period (quaterly or annually).

How to de-register lab devices from VisioNize Lab Suite?

As a VisioNize Lab Suite administrator (user role: Lab Manager), you can de-register lab devices via the Device Management. Select the lab device you want to remove from your VisioNize Lab Suite tenant and click on "De-register". The device will automatically get disconnected and moved to the Archive tab in Device Management.

Can I connect a lab device to multiple VisioNize Lab Suite tenants simultaneously?

No, a lab device can only be connected to one VisioNize Lab Suite tenant at once.

How can I register a device to my VisioNize Lab Suite?

You need to have the user role Lab Manager assigned. First, access your VisioNize Lab Suite tenant and open the Device Management. Second, click on "Add Device +" and follow the 3 steps of the device registration procedure.

I lost my password. What can I do?

You can reset your password via the login window of your VisioNize Lab Suite tenant. VisioNize will send an email with a password reset link to your contact email address. Simply click on the link and set a new password.

What device software version is supported?

You can connect VisioNize touch devices directly to VisioNize Lab Suite. We are constantly expanding the device compatibility of VisioNize Lab Suite. You can find a list of all compatible Eppendorf devices and device software versions here: www.eppendorf.com/visionize

VisioNize Lab Suite is a cloud-based platform. By connecting lab devices you can remotely monitor the device performance, set up notifications for device-related events (e.g. finished programs), critical alerts and warnings, plan maintenance activities and much more.

Two user roles are defined within the VisioNize Lab Suite. The Lab Manager (administrator) can add additional users and lab devices to the platform. The Standard Users have read-only rights. All users can access the platform from everywhere simultaneously.

What are the defined roles in the user management of VisioNize Lab Suite?

The Lab Manager can add, delete and update users and lab devices and change all related information within VisioNize Lab Suite. The Standard User has read-only rights to device information, can generate reports and set up notifications and tasks.

What is the minimum recommended specification of user end devices accessing VisioNize Lab Suite?

Any end device with an internet browser can have access to the platform VisioNize Lab Suite. We recommend using the latest versions of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox as web browsers.

Does VisioNize require any software or driver installation onto end user devices?

Every device with internet access and a web browser can access the VisioNize Lab Suite. There are no additional software or driver installation on end user devices needed.

Can the data hosted in the VisioNize Lab Suite be stored locally on a customer server?

The data are hosted in the VisioNize Lab Suite. You can export device-related data by subscribing to the service "Device Documentation".

How does the subscription for VisioNize Lab Suite work?

What lab devices from Eppendorf are compatible and can be connected?

Can I connect non-Eppendorf lab devices e.g. refridgerators?

Yes, by using the VisioNize sense sensor monitoring kit you can connect any temperature-controlled lab devices e.g. freezers, shakers and incubators.

How many lab devices can I connect?

You can add an unlimited number of lab devices incl. non-connectable devices e.g. pipettes. You only need one device connectivity license per connected device.

Can pipettes be integrated via RFID chips?

RFID is currently not supported. Pipettes can be added via QR codes and scanners. Import of existing documentation material is possible.

Does the VisioNize box and the VisioNize sense gateway router require a firmware update from time to time?

Due to further development updates might be required. These updates can be triggered remotely from the VisioNize Lab Suite.

How can I connect lab devices to the VisioNize Lab Suite?

Have a look at the VisioNize Setup Guide and follow easily the instructions to get your instruments connected to the VisioNize Lab Suite.

Is VisioNize Lab Suite 21 CFR Part 11 compliant or compatible?

Currently, data in the VisioNize Lab Suite cannot be changed, deleted or manipulated. Export to Excel is possible. Further features will be released to meet requirements for 21 CFR Part 11.

What can I to with Task Management?

With the VisioNize Lab Suite Service Task Management you can ensure the optimal performance of your entire device fleet. Plan one-time or recurring tasks for all your devices. Assign tasks to responsible persons, receive notifications when due and track the progress of each task.

Is it possible to export data from VisioNize Lab Suite?

Yes, historical device-related data and events can be exported. Currently, only Excel files are possible but we are working on providing non-editable PDFs.

What kind of data can be exported with VisioNize?

The export includes historical values of all parameters, alarms and event data of connected devices.

Where are the data stored?

The VisioNize Lab Suite is hosted in the Microsoft Azure cloud. All data are stored on servers within the EU.

How long do I have access to the data?

Seven days data access is included in VisioNize Lab Suite Essentials. Data access can be extended to 1 months with VisioNize Lab Suite Sample Safety+.

Can I extend the access to the data?

Yes, you can extend data access by subscribing to the VisioNize Lab Suite Sample Safety+. This will grant you date access for 1 month.

For what can I use the VisioNize sense temperature monitoring kit?

The sensor system is easy to install and routes the collected data to VisioNize Lab Suite. You can either utilize the sensor system as an additional independent probe for your Eppendorf freezers or to monitor the temperature of your non-Eppendorf freezers, shakers and incubators.

What do I need in terms of sensors?

The VisioNize ® sense sensor monitoring kit is an all-in-one package including temperature sensor, environmental monitoring sensors and a gateway router.

How many VisioNize sense environmental sensors can I connect with one VisioNize Device Connectivity?

One device connectivity license is needed per device. A VisioNize sense environmental sensor counts here as one device. You can book additional connectivity licenses anytime in the VisioNize Lab Suite subscription suite.

How do I connect the VisioNize sense gateway router and the sensors?

The VisioNize sense gateway router needs one ethernet cable to get connected to the local network. The gateway router connects wirelessly up to 100 VisioNize sense environmental sensors. Simply press the Power button of the sensor near the VisioNize sense gateway router. The connection will be established automatically afterwards.

What parameters can be measured in additional to temperature?

The following parameters can be tracked: ambient temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure and brightness.

Can the sensors be connected to an existing BMS system?

No, the VisioNize sense environmental sensors are intended to be connected to the VisioNize Lab Suite.

What is the range of the gateway router?

One VisioNize sense gateway router per room is recommended. The signal covers multiple rooms but depends on your building's infrastructure. It is like your WIFI router and network at home.
