Does a service carried out by Eppendorf meet the GMP requirement?

Eppendorf offers global certification services which comply with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP Annex 11, GLP and GAMP ® 5 to ensure a consistent, standardized operation. We also enable an uncomplicated validation from the implementation to the shutdown by providing support for the installation und operational qualifications (IQ/OQ) of the device and with the software. The entire qualification is documented in detail and the operator’s personnel is qualified and certified in intensive training sessions.

Why do the dispensing tools of my ep Motion need to be calibrated?

The dispensing tools are precision devices. Servicing and calibration at regular intervals ensure a consistently high precision of the results. We provide documentation in support for GLP to assist you.

How much are the different ep Motion service programs?

What is IQ or OQ and what do I need them for?

Installation and operational qualification; the IQ documents that the device has been delivered and installed correctly. The OQ checks the correct functioning of a device. IQ/OQ ensure that your quality management requirements are met and that your device operates properly and in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.

Why should I have my ep Motion serviced at regular intervals?

To ensure the optimum performance and precision of your device. This also enables the early detection of any defects which can then be corrected easily. Only precise and accurate devices ensure successful liquid transfers!

Why can the dispending tool be calibrated without the user unit ?

The ep Motion dispensing tool is calibrated with the help of the ep Motion Tool Holder. The electronic parameter to control the tools of the ep Motion are always the same in all ep Motion units. Therefore all ep Motion dispensing tool can be calibrated on different units than the user unit. The only exceptions are the TS10 and TM10 dispensing tool. They can only be calibrated with units controlled by epBlue Version 40.5.

What types of service programs are available for ep Motion ?

How often do dispensing tools need to be calibrated?

As part of his test equipment monitoring process, the operator determines the frequency of the calibration as well as the quantity of the testing volume and the number of measurements for each testing volume. This may vary depending on how often the device is used, by how many operators it is used, the aggressivity of the liquids used and the maximum permissible errors defined by the operator. The dispensing tools of your device will display after 200,000 runs that an inspection is recommended. However, there should be at least 1 calibration per year.

How often does the OQ need to be carried out for an ep Motion ?

The company is responsible for technical checks of devices. Eppendorf recommends regular device qualifications depending on the intensity of use, however, they should be carried out at least once a year.

How often does my ep Motion need to be serviced?

The need for service depends on how intensively the device is used and if you are working in a regulated field with special service demands. However, we recommend to have it serviced at least once a year.

Which consumables should be replaced at regular intervals?

All three XYZ flex cables should be replaced at least once per year if the machine is used daily.

What do you need to look out for before carrying out a service?

The device needs to be decontaminated first. The device must be freely accessible and all samples removed from the device.
